Anniversary ! This year I had the opportunity to participate in the Britzingen New Year's Eve Run for the 20th time. The organizers were lucky because the rain stopped just in time for the start of the main race. The conditions for the run were therefore almost perfect.
Unfortunately, I wasn't quite as fast as the year before. But 53 minutes 32 seconds is still okay, especially considering that I didn't have time to do any speed training in the months leading up to this event. (left picture from Sportfotografie Thoma)
2014
Same as in the past 19 years, also this year I've signed up for the Britzingen New Year's Eve Run. As always, it's a wonderful way to end the sporting year by running the measured 10 km here together with almost 1,000 other runners. Despite the heavy snowfall during the period between Christmas and New Year, the organizers managed to clear the course in time. My time of 51 minutes 46 seconds was the fastest I've run since 2009, and I was very satisfied with my result.

2013
At the last day of 2013 I had the chance to join again the New Year's Eve Race in Britzingen not far away from my hometown. As always it is a nice event to finish the year. For me it was the 18th time to join. About 1000 other runners joined the 10Km race at nice weather with temperatures of about 7 degrees.
My expectations regarding the race result were not very high. I didn't have time for any special short distances training. Furthermore I was mainly running flat distances. But it is well known that the second 5Km were mainly going uphill.
After 53min 17Sek. I crossed the finisher line and was happy about this result. In fact I was faster than 2012 and 2011.
